What this is
Your Briefing Tool is a conversation that turns rough thoughts into clear, strategically sound creative briefs. Instead of filling in a form, you talk through what you're making, why it matters and who it's for — one simple question at a time. Behind that conversation, the tool listens for the difference between what you say and what you actually need, asks for evidence rather than opinion, and pulls everything together into a brief a creative team can run with.
It exists because most briefs fail before the work starts. They're too long, too vague, or they state the deliverable without the problem underneath it. So the tool does the thing a good strategist does in a first meeting: it asks the small questions that surface the real one. You can take a quick route when you know what you need, or a deeper one when the problem is still taking shape.
It's for anyone commissioning creative work — agencies, freelancers, in-house teams, founders and consultants — whether you write briefs every week or once a year. Your first briefs are free, and your answers stay private to you.
It's built and run by HARPP, a strategy and communications studio that spends its days writing, reading and rescuing briefs. You can find us at harpp.co.
